What is the difference between a cantilever and a beam?
The cantilever beam is a beam with one end support is fixed and other ends support is free. A simply supported beam is a beam with two hinge support at each end support. An overhanging beam is a beam when a cantilever portion is hanging out of a simply supported beam. In other words, when simply supported beams is extended over its supports.
